On Sunday we drove out to Gilbert for Scott and Laura’s engagement session. They are such a fun, sweet (gorgeous) couple. And they’re getting married later this year at the fantastic Villa Siena.

I’m sure I don’t need to explain why shooting outdoors in Arizona in the middle of May is a kind of a gamble, but lucky for us the weather was unexpectedly gorgeous. We really love how these photos turned out!

We found this pretty field of alfalfa and took some shots there as the sun was dipping low:

We asked for “Zoolander” and they delivered:

I love the simplicity and warmth of this whole engagement session. We stuck to some pretty basic locations (park, open field) but it just goes to show that sometimes the most uncomplicated backdrops make for the best images.  It really allows their love to shine through.
